Jack VanImpe Soothsaying Again

Jack Van Impe and his wife Rexella on a recent airing of their Bible prophecy program, "Jack Van Impe Presents," directed their viewers to the Inca and Aztec calendars for clues as to the timing of the Second Coming of Jesus Christ.  Odd that they didn't explain why two heathen civilizations that never even heard of Jesus would be reliable witnesses for such information. The video clip of it has been placed on YouTube for all to see.  Now the whole world gets a big laugh at the stupidity of such a proclamation that the world as we know it is going to end in the year 2012 because Inca priests foresaw it.  And, as usual, the name of Christ gets dragged in the dirt.  Shame on you, Jack!!

Here's the Transcript and Link to it on YouTube.

Rexella, quoting a letter by viewer Russ Bookout of Sealy, Texas:

"I have been told the Inca calendar is one of the oldest and most accurate calendars ever devised. Iíve also been told, that the Inca calendar doesnít go beyond the year 2012. If this is true, could this have any bearing on the next coming of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ?"

Jackís answer:

"Ooh, in the light of everything weíve said today, this is such an important question. I have read the book, "The Fingerprints of the Gods." Itís a tremendous volume and it covers the Inca and Aztec calendars, both ending on December 25th, 2012. Now, what could it mean? When they talk about the end of the world, as far as the Incas and the Aztecs are concerned, they donít mean the end of the world because they have five endings and one of them was Noahís experience with the flood. It didnít end the world. Furthermore, as you know, and Iíve said already in this program, the world is never going to end Ė Isaiah 45:17 and Ephesians 3:21, so what could it mean? Oh, Iím excited. In Matthew 1, verse 17, it lists forty-two generations from Abraham to Christ Ė 42. Historically, that covers 2,160 years. Divide 42 into that number and you come out to 51.4 years. Whatís the countdown? Jerusalem being taken by the Jews, for Jerusalem starts the seven year period of tribulation, Daniel 9:24. Add 51.4 to 1967 when the Jews took Jerusalem and you come out to 2018. But I just saw this this week. You add the extra six months because it happened in June of 67 and the 4/10ths and you come out to 2019 years and take away the seven from that and you come out to 2012. Could it be that on Christmas Day Jesus Christ would come at that moment. We donít know the day and the hour, Matthew 24:36, but Jesus commands us to know when itís near, even at the door. Now Iím not dogmatic on this, but could this be the thing thatís going to be revealed through the Inca and Aztec calendars? Come, Lord Jesus."
